Scholarships for School of Computing students in 2010/11

The following scholarships are available for students studying courses in the School of Computing (see below for list of eligible programmes).

Alan Newell scholarship and Mark Grossi scholarship

There are two named scholarships for 50% of full fee, i.e. the total scholarship offered from the full international fees should be £5,512. These are the Alan Newell scholarship and the Mark Grossi scholarship. Applications for this should be made to the Dean of the School of Computing, who will decide who the recipients will be for 2010/11 session. Your application should set out your case for being awarded the scholarship, based on academic merit.

School of Computing scholarships and Discovery Scholarships

There will be up to ten School of Computing scholarships for £5,000, based on academic merit. The total scholarship offered from the full international fees will be £5,000.

There will be up to ten Discovery Scholarships for £3,000, i.e. total scholarship offered from the full fees will be £3,000.

It is not necessary to make a separate application for the School of Computing Scholarship or the Discovery Scholarship. All eligible applications received so far will be considered for these awards on the following dates: 1 April, 1 June, 1 August, 10 September. Applicants who are awarded a School of Computing Scholarship or a Discovery Scholarship will then be notified.

School of Computing family scholarship

There will be School of Computing family scholarships for 20% of tuition fee (mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, spouse, partner of current student or graduate of School of Computing). Contact international@dundee.ac.uk stating the name of the current student or graduate, and your relationship to them.

School of Computing transition scholarship

There will be School of Computing undergraduate-MSc transition scholarships for 20% of tuition fee. Contact international@dundee.ac.uk stating your current student ID number.

  • MSc in Design Ethnography

Please note that in all cases the amount stated is the total scholarship available from the University of Dundee, i.e. it is not possible to combine this scholarship with other University of Dundee scholarships.

All applications for scholarships for 2010/11 must be received by 10 September 2010.
