"I’m really happy that I chose Dundee and I’d recommend it to anyone who is considering studying here." - Boris Borisov

“I work for Intelligent Point of Sale Ltd, who develop point of sale solutions for iPads. I am in charge of all the server side aspects of developing our software.

“My studies prepared me really well for the job I am doing now. When I was university, I used to think that a lot of the things I’m studying now I’ll never use, but that hasn’t been the case. It’s all given me a small advantage when working in the industry.

“The course allowed me to develop specific knowledge in areas that have become really handy. I’m really happy that I chose Dundee and I’d recommend it to anyone who is considering studying here.

“When I went into my first job, I didn’t have to go and research a lot of things because I already knew how to do it. Obviously, there were things to learn, but the base I’d already developed was crucial.

“I did a placement at the School of Computing, which really helped me in my day-to-day work when I’m communicating with various people and colleagues across the organisation. That part of the job isn’t for everyone, but I really enjoy it.

“I only knew a few things about Dundee before coming to study in the city. It’s a really nice student environment which makes you feel like you’re at home. You go in with your friends, you learn something – and yes you have exams – but it’s a really nice atmosphere. I don’t think a lot of other universities can offer the same. It’s a great place to be.”
