The School of Computing (SoC) has held its annual PhD symposium
Featuring presentations by SoC's PhD students. The Symposium has published proceedings comprising 16 papers by SoC PhD students (carefully peer-reviewed by the students). Members of staff monitored the process and assigned two awards:
For Outstanding PhD student paper/presentation-2015 -- Roberto Annunziata "Towards Robust and Efficient Automated Curvilinear Structure Detection in Medical Images "
For Best first-year paper presentation-2015, -- Chris Warburton, "Machine Learning for Theory Exploration"
This annual event showcases a wealth of research topics and achievements, and has become a highlight of the academic year for SoC PhD students and staff.
