Applying for an MSc

Information Required

You will be able to help us reach a quick decision on your application if you ensure that you provide all the necessary information.

The following information is important to us in reaching our decision on your application.

  • Details of your degree(s). It is essential to give the name of the qualification, the name of the institution at which you studied, and an indication of how well you performed. If you can provide a transcript of the subjects you studied, and the marks obtained, that is very helpful.
  • If your first language is not English, your English language qualification(s).
  • A brief description of your experience of using computers.
  • A brief explanation of why you want to do this course. This helps us to ensure that the course is suitable for you.

References

The references can be important in influencing our decision. If possible, we like to have two referees in academic institutions who have taught you during your studies, at least one on your most recent course. References should be supplied on official headed notepaper from the institution concerned, or, in the case of references by email, sent from official institutional email addresses.

Problems obtaining references are the biggest cause of delay in processing applications. It is very important that you give us the correct name and full current address of each referee. If possible please give their telephone numbers and email addresses as well. It is a good idea to contact the referees yourself before giving us their names, to check that you have the correct contact details and that they will be available to give the reference when requested.

Applications should be made online via UKPASS.
