MSc in Computing Research
This postgraduate degree is designed for graduates with a good degree in computing or a related subject who wish to gain deep knowledge of research methods and experience of working in an active research environment.
Format of course
The course runs from 18 January 2010 until 17 January 2011.
It consists of three taught units in the January - March semester, with an examination for each unit at then end of the semester. Students then undertake an individual supervised project lasting until the end of the course.

Entry Requirements
Entry to the MSc requires an Honours degree, preferably with a First Class award (or equivalent), in Computing, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related title. Graduates in Physics, Mathematics or similar disciplines, with programming experience, are also encouraged to apply. Please send with your application a 1-2 page description of your proposed research project, including a statement of which of our research groups you would like to work with.
If your first language is not English, you also need to provide evidence of a sufficient level of proficiency in English. The School of Computing requires one of the following qualifications or the equivalent:
- TOEFL 580 (or 237 for the computer based test)
- IELTS 6.0
