
Alan McGregor has been non-speaking from birth, through having cerebral palsy. But this has not stopped him from giving international lecture tours, using a synthetic speech system, about his experiences as a world champion competitive swimmer, a song-writer, and a helper with leading edge research into computer based communication systems.
He also in his lectures speaks of the problems facing people with disabilities, the primary one being mistakenly low expectations which many people continue to have when it comes to physical disability.
This half-hour video is a portrait of a life lived to the full, with a narration by Alan using a speech synthesiser, and contributions from many of his friends and colleagues.
