Here are a bit more information about what I do here at the School of Computing.
At work, I wear a number of different hats:
- Essentially, I'm a post-doc researcher in the School of Computing at the University of Dundee.
- Currently this involves the following roles:
- Researcher on the SiDE: Social Inclusion through the Digital Economy
- I am also involved with various personal research interests

- Researcher on the Sandpit: An organic approach to virtual participatory design (SEEDS)
- Accessibility Consultant for the Digital Media Access Group (DMAG), which provides consultancy on accessibility and usability of web and other digital media.
- An inclusive digital economy supporting older and disabled people and other digitally disenfranchised groups
- Requirements gathering for an inclusive digital economy (looked into experiences retired, almost retired and older workers had relating to rapidly changing technologies in the workplace)
- Building Interactive Resources for Diabetes (BIRD) project, which became My Diabetes, My Way (a national suite of diabetes tools for patients).
- Grant "Web-based self entry of family history by patients with a family history of cancer to improve referral from primary care to cancer genetics services"
- The ĒREAD Project - Providing Physically Disabled Children with Access to Manipulate Synthetic Phonetics

- I was Local Arrangements Chair for ACM Assets 2011, Conference Organisor for Towards a Truly Inclusive Digital Economy in London in March 2009, ITiCSE 2007 Conference Dundee in July 2007 and Accessible Design in the Digital World Conference (ADDW) in Dundee in 2005. ADDW started and developed by the Digital Media Access Group
- I have been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the School of Computing and the Student Recruitment Group.
- Helper with the The User Centre Group which provides support to older people who are our research collaborators.
