Good afternoon! Welcome to my Home Page. I am a Lecturer in the School of Computing at the University of Dundee - here are my handy links.

Research Interests
My main research interests are:- how emotion and other stressing factors are conveyed in human speech
- how to simulate vocal emotion in synthetic speech
- read the list of my research publications
- listen to my HAMLET synthetic speech-with-emotion system
Teaching
I teach on modules at most levels within our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, including:- AC22001 - Applied Computing 2B
- AC32001 - Computer Architecture & Operating Systems
- AC41003 - Multimedia: Audio
- AC51001 - Internet & Computer Systems

Professional Interests
- I am a member of the British Science Association and Chairman of the local Tayside & Fife Branch
- I enjoy flying the world with the Microsoft Flight Simulator
- Read about my personal heroes, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Sir Barnes Wallis.
Other Interests and Hobbies
- I have an interest in shipping, especially those vessels operated by Caledonian MacBrayne.
- I operate a couple of ferries myself, as radio controlled models.
- I enjoy all the TV series of Gerry Anderson.
- I enjoy varied tastes in music too.
