Results of Local event and Grand Prix 6 at Strathallan School on 22nd August 2006

Organiser - Dave Prentice.

Another very pleasant event in the grounds of Strathallan School, and quite a contrast to Pitmedden last weekend. Despite the apparent straightforwardness of the navigation, the courses did prove challenging, particularly the change from fast running on the grassy lawns to the forested hill behind the main school buildings.

It was particularly good to see so many people who'd been at Pitmedden come back for more - we hope you've been well and truly bitten by the orienteering bug!

Star performers were Christopher Bendall, who scorched round the Short course in 21 minutes and then did the Medium course; Evie Aitken who won the medium course by nearly seven minutes from Julie Allan, and Davie Frame who held off local runner Stuart Hunter to sneak a win on the Long course.

Thanks to the school for giving us permissionm to use the grounds; to Dave Prentice who planned the courses at very short notice, and to Davie Frame for helping to bring in controls.
