Results of Local event and Grand Prix 2 at St Magdalene Hill, Perth on 3rd May 2005

Organiser - Brian Williams

This week’s evening orienteering event saw 35 participants struggling through heavy showers and mud-covered paths on St.Magdalene’s hill. Despite the weather turnout was good with a number of families and local school children taking part. The rain transformed what would normally be good running terrain into slippery walking conditions. Slower than expected times were therefore seen on most courses.

A combined team of friends from Moncrieffe primary school (Ayesha Albarwani, Abigail Williams, Linzi Martin and Jonathon Brown) scooped first position on the short course. David Combe led the Tay contingent on the medium course in a very creditable 47 minutes while Martha and Evie Aitken, moving up to medium from last week’s short course, came in at 71 and 68 minutes respectively. David Allison from STAG nipped ahead of Tay local Ged Keane to win the long course in an impressive time of 40 minutes.
