Kinnoull Hill is a popular area immediately east of Perth. Given that is such a pleasant area for orienteering, so close to a built up area and with good transport links to the rest of Scotland, the club regularly receives demands for use. At the same time, to protect sensitive areas of the woodland, and to guard against over-use in general, an access agreement has been drawn up between the club and Perth and Kinross Council, the Forestry Commission and Scottish Natural Heritage, which places restrictions on the area's use for orienteering.
Consequently, anyone wishing to use the area for training must in the first instance contact Dave Prentice (tel: (01738) 583345 or email: dave_prentice @ btinternet.com) who will be able to advise you on the availability of the area.
This (provisional - details to be confirmed) list includes mapped areas within - or close to the edge of - the Tayside area where maps are owned by other clubs. On occasion, some areas have been used, with permission, by Tayside Orienteers for events. Presence of an area on this list does not necessarily mean there is an up-to-date map available!
