The 2007 version of of Tay's remowned annual Christmas Score Event took place at at Hogwarts or, if you insist, Glenalmond College and Cairnie Wood!.
In orienteering terms it is the closest you are likely to get to JK Rowling's creation. The courses crossed beautiful manicured college grounds, woodland, the river, a golf course and forestry, with the classic college buildings set against a mountain backdrop reminiscent of Hogwarts – and Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) went to school there. After the event finished, there was a guided tour of the chapel and library, then over 100 orienteers sat down for Christmas lunch in the college hall, where prizes were presented.

Congratulations to all our prize winners! A full list will appear here soon along with answers to all the quiz questions...
Thankyou to everyone who helped on the day, coping with a new record turnout for our annual Christmas Score. Special thanks to Robin Strain for helping us harness the power of SportIdent for doing the timing and points calculations.
A big thanks to Glenalmond College for making their grounds available plus a wonderful setting for the meal - a very good example of the college working with the community, something that the college are always keen to encourage.
Only three runners managed to visit all the controls, with a TAY 1,2 at the top. TAY's Dave Weir just managed to get back within the 60 mins time limit followed by Stewart Reid going 5 mins over and Ben Stansfield third, going 7 mins over. But once the quiz answers were taken into account, the final result was a win for Ben Stansfield over Brad Connor. Dave Weir finished third, but lost his answer sheet, which scuppered his chance of getting any bonus points and his chance of being overall winner.
We welcomed orienteers frorm all over Central Scotland; it was also good to see so many first-time orienteers, helped by the publicity given to the event by the Perthshire Advertiser. In the end we had 101 runners; 112 for lunch; approaching 150 when all family members were counted.
Thankyou all for coming and see you next year!
