Nick Hine explored the role of
tele-care technology as a means of promoting independence and enhancing the
quality of care in the home. The interests of the older person, their informal
and their formal carers were explored, as well as the capabilities of the
technologies and the ethical issues that the deployment of these technologies
raises.
