About The Scottish Disability Team

The creation of the Scottish Disability Team by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council (SHEFC) - now the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) - is a major new development in the area of improving provision for disabled students across the sector.

Who are we?

Funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and based in the School of Computing at the University of Dundee, the Scottish Disability Team (SDT for short) has been formed under the leadership of Paul Brown, Director. The creation of this team enables Paul's previous role as the SHEFC National Co-ordinator for Students with Disabilities to be expanded into activities at a more strategic level.

Professor Alan Newell is the Team's Academic Supervisor.
