Java Online for CPD

In our online module we will provide you with the basic skills required to produce, design and develop computer programs in Java. Topics include users and requirements, objects, the Java language, statements, operators, inheritance, program control, arrays, collections and packages - and a project to demonstrate your understanding of all of these.

Am I eligible?

The only pre-requisite is programming experience.

Where & when?

The module runs several times each year - typically Autumn, Spring & Summer, and lasts for 10 weeks. Subject to sufficient numbers, the next runs of Java Online are scheduled to start:

  • October 6th 2008
  • January 26th 2009
  • June 22nd 2009

To give us time to get you registered we must receive your completed application form no later than a week before the module start date.

If you live close enough, we may invite you to attend the University for an introductory meeting at the beginning of the session. BUT this is an online module, and everything you need will be sent by post before you start, or else available online via the Internet.

You work in your own time, and you will be fully supported by a university tutor via email, discussion boards and web conferencing.
