Talking About Technology: details

There will be four seminars on communication skills, run on the campus (venue to be confirmed):

  • Learning Communications
Looking at body language and learning theory.
  • Interpreting Body Language
Looking at body language in more detail, and its importance in communication.
  • Working with Older People
The session will apply the techniques discussed in the previous sessions to the particular issues involved in working with older people. It will include a presentation by older people and a practical session.
  • Specialised Evaluation Techniques
An examination of evaluation techniques for working with older people, including a discussion of evaluation methodologies. In addition, the problems faced by project participants will be identified and outlined.

    Details

All the seminars are open to anyone who would like to attend. You can attend as many or as few as you would like to.
Please note, however, that if you wish to progress to the next stage of the course where we will be working with a group of older computer users, you should attend all four sessions.

Seminars will be run by Gary Mitchell from the St Saviours Learning Centre.
Gary has worked in community development since 1992, and was involved in the Northern Ireland Peace Process. He now runs a computer centre for older people from St Saviours High School.

    What now?

If you would like to attend any of the sessions, or would like further details about the course please contact Anna Dickinson
