Annette Ward, Scottish Power Research Fellow and Development Manager, has evaluated retrieval software at London Guildhall Library and Art Gallery,
The British Library, and BBC. She has over 25 years as an academic in textiles, clothing, and design in US and India.
Stephen McKenna - Principal Investigator
Stephen McKenna's research interests are computer vision and pattern recognition in domains such as intelligent human-computer
interaction, content-based image browsing, medicine and biology.
Ian Ricketts - Co-Investigator
Ian Ricketts holds a personal chair in Assistive Systems and
Healthcare Computing at the University of Dundee. He has worked
at Reuters and NCR and was a founding member of what is now the
Dundee University School of Computing.
Junwei (Jeff) Han - Post-Doctoral Researcher
Jeff (Junwei) Han is currently a PostDoc research assitant. His research interests include content-based image/video
retrieval, gesture recognition, image/video object segmentation, and pattern recognition.
Ruixwan (Roy) Wang - Post-Doctoral Researcher
Ruixuan Wang's research interests are computer vision and machine learning, including content-based image browsing,
vision-based human motion analysis, and object recognition.
Wei (Jerry) Jia - PhD Student
Wei Jia is currently a PhD student. Her research interests include image segmentation, shape analysis and
content based image retrieval.
Calum McMinn - Clerical Assistant
Calum McMinn is a 3rd Year Applied Computing student at the University of Dundee. He has worked on a number of websites
and software projects for both academic and personal uses. He plans to enter the computer games industry after graduating.
System Simulation
Mike Stapleton - Managing Director
Mike Stapleton has participated as software engineer, project manager
or consultant in projects relating to computer graphics and
information management. He leads System Simulation's activities
applying these technologies in areas such as museum and picture
library applications.

Paul Sergeant - CEO of Calico Jack
Paul Sergeant has taken a senior role in numerous collaborative mobile projects. Prior to
founding Calico Jack, he was a Research Fellow at the University of Dundee.
Peter Taylor - Chairman Liberty Japan & Managing Director Legend Consulting
Peter Taylor has over 20 years Brand and IP experience in international commerce (most recently with Liberty)
and has taken a personal and active role in the FABRIC project to ensure it has a strong commercial benefit
for and support within Liberty on a worldwide basis.

Anna Buruma - Liberty Archivist, textile historian
Anna Buruma, formerly a costume designer for television and film was
instrumental in putting the Liberty archive back into productive use for the company and has been working on fully
cataloguing this valuable resource.
Martin Coward - Liberty Fabric Production Director
Martin Coward, Head of Production at Liberty Fabrics is responsible for purchasing, planning, stock
control, QC and technical matters. He has worked for Liberty for over 30 years and has wide experience
of fabric print design and manufacturing techniques and technologies.

James Stevenson - Manager of the Photographic Studio
James Stevenson leads a team of 15 photographers that produce images
for its collection management, publication, and promotion programmes. As well as producing 2-D images, the studio also
makes a growing range of multimedia formats of the collection for its virtual presence.

Chris Wilkie has over 25 years experience of digital asset management in the BBC,
with expertise in metadata systems including the cataloguing and indexing of a wide range of media, including video,
