BCS Professional Membership for Dundee graduates
The BSc Applied Computing class of 2009 graduated in June with their degree certificates in one hand and graduate membership of the British Computer Society (BCS) in the other.
Graduates from the course are entitled to join the British Computer Society as professional members, and the School of Computing decided to encourage them at the start of their careers with the gift of a year's membership. Maria Morgan from the BCS attended a presentation ceremony in the School's Queen Mother Building.
Amongst the class of 2009 is Ha Trinh from Vietnam. As top Applied Computing student she was awarded a prize from BCS Tayside and the British Science Association Medal. Her project, Joystick Interface for Phonic Based Communication and Mobility, was also the top project and has been submitted to the Young Software Engineer of the Year Awards 2009. She is starting a PhD in the School of Computing in September 2009.
