GILS: Group-Work Informal Learning System
This study was funded by the Higher Education Academy. The work was to investigate a system which allowed students to prompt and discuss problematic issues with each other whilst working in groups, whilst retaining their anonymity.
This work has produced a materials pack; "Informal Learning to support feedback for improved group work performance", that offers technical advice, implementation guidance, and points for consideration by academic staff considering the value of informal learning for ICS, as found below:
Finally, it has provided a replicable methodology and tools that staff in other institutions and disciplines might draw upon in conducting similar investigations in their own institutions and disciplines.
