Java Online
The University of Dundee welcomes undergraduate applicants who are sufficiently well qualified for advanced entry those applying for such degrees are now being further encouraged by the offer of the Chancellor's Scholarship.
Within Applied Computing, we find that some direct entrants do not possess all the practical skills and understanding which form the level 1 curriculum. Direct entry students who lack object-oriented programming experience may struggle with a very steep learning curve early in their University studies.
Java Online is an online version of the first year module AC11001: Object-oriented Programming using Java. It is delivered remotely to those applying for advanced entry, and as a CPD course for teachers of Computing, using the University of Dundee Virtual Learning Environment, Blackboard. There is full tutor support via email, discussion groups and web conferencing.
